Police have outlawed a meeting that was to be held in Eldoret today for the installation of a spokesman for the Kikuyu community in the region.
Governor for Uasin Gishu Jackson Mandago wrote to the Uasin Gishu County security team demanding that the meeting be put off on security grounds.
Elders from the Kalenjin community also said they were not supportive of the meeting because it would cause tribal animosity in the region.
