A policeman has been arrested after he physically assaulted and injured his wife at the Buruburu police lines. The two had been quarreling before the officer descended on the woman seriously injuring her.
He is expected to face assault charges today.
Meanwhile, several people were last night left homeless in two fire incidents in Nairobi.
The first incident happened in Kawangware where several structures were flattened. No injury was reported on the locals. The second incident happened in Mathare slums where at least ten structures were affected.
Police say they are yet to establish the cause of the fire. Those affected have appealed for help to rebuild the structures.
In other news, a court is expected to visit a house where three Chinese nationals-Xing Wei, Zhang Jie and Shang Li and a Kenyan-David Maseno Oseko were Tuesday arrested in Kilimani area for being in possession of several Game Trophies which included leopard skin, elephant ivories, rhino horn and a live tortoise.
Police are also seeking orders to destroy several kilogrammes of bad meat found in the house. Veterinary officials arrived at the house yesterday and took samples for tasting to establish if it is of a dog.
The four were charged in court and detained for five days to enable police complete investigations.
