Police are pursuing a notorious criminal gang that brutally attacked and seriously injured three people in Likoni Mombasa on Saturday night. The group identified as Watalia allegedly slashed residents with machetes.
Police said the gang was avenging the lynching of their key leader who was killed by public after a foiled robbery last week. " The knife welding youth attacked residents within Soweto.
Three people sustained serious body injuries. "said a senior police officer. The injured were transferred to Coast general hospital for treatment. A police report says the juvenile gang operates in Soweto and Mtongwe with most of the members aged between 12years to 16 years.
Most of them are hooked into drugs and engage in crime to sustain their lifestyle.
