SAD: Police Officer Killed After Their vehicle Rolls in Mandera

A police officer was killed when their Mine Resistant Armoured vehicle rolled along Elwak- Kutulo road in Mandera.
15 other officers who were in the vehicle were injured. The vehicle was moving at high speed when the driver lost control over heavy rains ongoing in the area.
The injured have since been moved to various hospitals for specialised medication following the accident involving officers from the General Service Unit that occurred yesterday afternoon.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the central business district ahead of the Supreme Court sitting over presidential petitions.
More officers have been brought to the city over fears a group of herders plan to bring hundreds of cows to protest last month’s killing of more than 300 others in Laikipia.
Police have vowed not to allow the group reach the Inspector General’s Office as they plan to protest the incident. The Supreme Court is expected to meet briefly to plan how to hold the petitions for the next days hence the security.
