An anonymous man wrote to the website Ask A Manager last month seeking advice because his ex-girlfriend of three years had become his boss
The man lived with the woman, called Sylvia, for two years but moved out of their shared house while she was away on holiday.
After his old boss left, he discovered that Sylvia would take the vacant job and was panicking about what to do
He has now come back with an update on the situation and explained Sylvia is now married and has children.
However, his management asked him to come in for a meeting, and while the man wasn't asked to resign, they laid down 'measures' to avoid future problems.
According to the man, the measures would have made is position 'unattainable, even in a short run', which is why he 'resigned on the spot'
