Security has been beefed up ahead of the opening ceremony for the IAAF World Under 18 Championship event at the Kasarani stadium.
President Kenyatta is expected to grace the occasion where several athletes will participate. Security personnel have been mobilized to the area to help manage security amid reports of few incidents in hostels and villages occupied by the athletes and other officials.
Police say they are ready for the event with over 1,000 officers manning the places. Police warn traffic flow may be affected in places surrounding the stadium within a short while.
