Security heightened in Mombasa ahead of the Pope's visit

Catholic followers from Mombasa who will be travelling to Nairobi during Pope Francis' visit will be escorted by police. County commissioner Nelson Marwa says they have plans to provide security for more than 50 buses that will be ferrying the faithfuls to Nairobi.

The visit will be the Pope’s maiden visit to Africa and he is expected to arrive in the country on November 25 and he will depart on November 27.

Pope Francis will come to Kenya as the Vatican’s head of state and the spiritual leader of the Catholic church.

He will hold bilateral talks with President Uhuru and address Kenyans.
