Hundreds of youths on Saturday protested against the exit of Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo in Kapsowar town, Elgeyo Marakwet county.
They claimed Kimaiyo had been forced to resign by Jubilee politicians.
The protestors accused area Senator Kipchumba Murkomen of being part of those who undermined Kimaiyo.
"Murkomen criticised Kimaiyo in the media and must have known about the plan to remove the former IG," protest leader Leonard Cheberur said.
