The 30 year old was caught red handed by members of the public in the middle of the night.
The Assistant Chief William Oreme claims that according to a few villagers heard movements in the maize plantation and raised alarm before fellow residents rushed to the farm and found the suspect plucking maize and packing it in sacks.
They then immediately called the provisional administration who took him to Bondo Police station where he's been presently detained.
The administrator revealed that the distance between the suspect’s home in Nyawita and the farm where he went to steal maize is almost 14 kilometers.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court today morning where the three sacks of maize he was nabbed with as well as his motorcycle will also be presented.
