Githurai drowning
We all know traffic on Thika Road can be hectic but on a holiday, one would expect a smoother ride. Well, you guessed wrong. The road leading between Roysambu and Githurai was a hot mess after being blocked by angry residents this Mashujaa Day.
And they had reason to be mad. One of their own, identified by Kasarani OCPD as Mureithi Kaburu was found floating on the man-made dam just past Githurai this fateful morning, after he drowned on Sunday.
Residents who witnessed the incident say the carpenter-cum-fisherman slipped off the downward slope, falling into the water and subsequently drowned. A group of young fellows in the area tried to rescue him after they heard his colleague shouting for help. They were unfortunately, not successful.
Mboloi confirmed the sentiment saying;
"WE HAVE HEARD OF INCIDENTS FROM TIME TO TIME",
Although he could not confirm the frequency.
