These landmarks aren't like the great wonders of the world, it is known how they were built but the thing is, the architectural designs and their appearances are some of the things that make them stand out even more than other buildings.

1.Angkor Wat 

Located in Cambodia, it is one of the most beloved temple which has been preserved over the years. It is one of the largest religious monuments in the whole world and is architectural design is of the Khmer Empire.

2. Machu Pichu

The famous ruins are 8000 ft above sea level found in the Andes.The place belonged to the Incan empire and many are usually left wondering how they were able to build and live in such a place, mostly because of its climate and how high it is .

3. Taj Mahal

The National treasure of India is a symbol of love and romance. Its architectural designs starting with the ornaments used the white marble and precious gemstones make it even more beautiful. People from all over the world go to visit the place and are always left in awe.

4.Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

It is the largest marble mosaic in the world at 180,000 square feet and is known for its huge courtyard as well.It is located in Abu Dhabi and is one of the few religious places that are open to tourist.

5. Basilica of the Sagrada Familia

It is one of the most visited monuments in the world and is the most visited monument in all of Spain. The architect devoted most of his life building but unfortunately died. However, the continuation of its completion began again 100 years after the architect died and its estimated to complete in 2026.

6.St Peters Basilica

It remains one of the two largest churches in the world, and is admired for its Renaissance sculpture as well as its fusion of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. It is  located in the Vatican and has so many masterpieces.

7.Milan Cathedral

Located in Milan it is one of the most visited Gothic cathedrals in Europe  and the second largest catholic Cathedral in the world.
