Arsenal fans around the world have come out guns blazing after the club confirmed that they have partnered with Visit Rwanda who will be their first official sleeve sponsors.

This will see the North London club join the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Leicester in having branded logos on their shirt sleeves.

In a lengthy statement by the club, the three-year deal will also see ‘Visit Rwanda’ become our official Tourism Partner, with the ‘Visit Rwanda’ logo featuring on the left sleeve of all our teams next season. The new kit for season 2018/19 was unveiled on May 22.

However, the news was not quite well received by a section of fans with some hilariously claiming that they had misspelt 'Wakanda' wrong. Wakanda is a fictional Sub-Saharan African nation appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, whose popularity grew since the release of the Black Panther film.

The club further highlighted that the partnership will see players from the  men’s and women’s teams visit Rwanda and club coaches will host coaching camps to support the development of the game for boys and girls in the East African country.

The move won't come as a shocker to Rwandese people, considering the fact that Rwanda president Paul Kagame is an outspoken die hard Arsenal fan.

Just weeks ago, a disappointed Kagame took to twitter to weigh on the predicament that had befell Arsenal after they failed to qualify to the finals of Europa League finals.

Though disappointed, he still expressed his love for Arsenal but bemoaned the fact that outgoing manager, Arsene Wenger will not be bowing out of the club after 22 years with an European trophy.

Read some of the reactions from the Arsenal fans below.
