Supermarket owners in Eldoret and Kitale have asked the govt to reduce taxes on alternative packaging material or bags following the ban on plastics.
Job Singoei from Khetias Supermarket says they are forced to sell the alternative packaging bags at higher prices because of the high taxes imposed by the government.
Singoei says members of the public have complained about the high prices of the alternative bags after the ban on plastics was effected.
