The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) is urging doctors to end the ongoing strike in order to stop the suffering of patients in the country.

Dr Hassan Kinyua from SUPKEM says the medics who have been on strike for 42 days should embrace dialogue and value life instead of focusing on financial benefits alone.

Kinyua says the doctors have made their demands clear through the strike and its time they go back to the negotiating table as they work.

On Wednesday 11th January, Moi University Medical students staged protests at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in support of the strike by doctors.

The students led by Ben Kiptoo want the government to implement the CBA which the doctors are demanding.
