Suspect arrested in connection with murder of man found dumped in Machakos

Police in Makueni Sub-county have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of another man whose body was found dumped along Wote-Machakos road.

The suspect was arrested at Kilara area at 1am on Thursday and is being held at the Wote Police Station where he is helping police with investigations.

The victim who is yet to be identified is alleged to have been in a Toyota vehicle, registration number KCS 738T, that was used to drag him for about 50 metres.

The man whose body was found nude, is said to have earlier raised a distress cry at Itangine Trading Centre, where boda boda operators gave chase and prompted the vehicle to be driven into a grazing field.

“I can confirm we have recovered a badly mutilated body with three deep cuts on the neck and completely naked. We found three mobile phones and a cable suspected to have been used to strangle the deceased. Also some clothes and a Somali sword pouches were recovered,” disclosed Makueni OCPD Mr. Bosita Omukolongolo, while speaking on phone, today.

The Police Boss who said they could not immediately confirm the motive of the killing, however, revealed that the vehicle had blood stains inside.

The body of the deceased was taken to the Makueni and Referral Hospital for preservation awaiting postmortem.
