A suspected thug has this morning been shot dead in Pangani area in a botched robbery incident.
The suspect was in the company of three others and had been robbing motorists and pedestrians when an alarm was raised. Police say they recovered a pistol that had two bullets from the slain man before moving the body to the mortuary. The other accomplices managed to escape on foot.
Meanwhile, a businessman and guard were last night shot and seriously wounded in a robbery at a house in Karen, Nairobi.
A gang of four armed with AK 47 rifles raided the homestead and ransacked it escaping with gold and unknown amount of cash. They also grabbed the family mobile phones before shooting the father in the leg twice.
Police say when a response car arrived there, the gang shot and seriously wounded one of the guards before they escaped in a waiting car. Efforts to trace the gang are ongoing.
