After Croatia shocked the world with their world class performance which condemned favorites, Argentina to a humiliating 3-0 loss on Thursday night, Nigeria who are on the brink of exit are scheduled to play fearless Iceland today.
Should Nigeria lose today’s match, they will be as good as gone even before they step into the match to play Argentina next week.
Ghost Mulee revealed an interesting fact where the Nigerians promised their president that they would become the first African country to win the most coveted trophy, before they left for Russia.
So far, the team which carried many African hopes and dreams have been reduced to nothing but subject of ridicule and online trolls after their 2-0 loss to Croatia in their opening group ‘D’ match.
Brazil however will be up first against Costa Rica at 3pm and Mulee thinks the Samba boys will come out guns blazing after their shock 1-1 draw against Switzerland, and win their match.
After suffering a 1-1 draw against a lowly ranked Iceland side and capping off a tough outing with a missed penalty, Argentina captain, Lionel Messi is under pressure to emulate the great Diego Maradona by delivering the elusive World Cup trophy.
Messi who lost in the 2014 World Cup final against Germany as well as Copa America finals in 2015 and 2016, will look to bounce back against a high flying Croatian side.
Croatia top group D after registering a 2-0 win over Nigeria while Argentina and Iceland have a point each and a win for The Blazers will see them secure qualification while they condemn Messi’s side to a tricky situation should Iceland defeat Nigeria.
Ghost Mulee believes both teams have great talents but despite it all, they’ll end up sharing points hence igniting the group.
After 14 FIFA 2018 group matches, the football world has so far enjoyed a number of ecstatic performances, surprise results and world class goals.
Defending champions Germany followed the trend of other previous winners by losing their opening matches after they lost to a daring Mexico. African teams are yet to make the continent proud with none of the three (Egypt, Morocco and Nigeria) winning their opening matches.
However, Ghost Mulee believes Senegal who will be playing Poland today, will give Africans a reason to smile when they take to the field. He insisted that as much as both sides have talented players, the strikers in Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Poland’s Robert Lewandowski will steal the show.
As Egypt take on hosts Russia in the day’s final match, Mulee thinks a recuperated Mohammed Salah will help the Pharaohs at least bag a point as the race for top berth intensifies.
World cup 2018 games kicked off on a high note last week.
The past few days, the matches have left those betting for their favorite teams with disappointments with most of the losing to small teams.
Saudi Arabia was beaten by Russia 5-0, German by Mexico, 0-1.
Well, today England is playing with a lot of expectations from them to win.
Well, Ghost says,
“You cannot always judge who a good player is, by one match. Ronaldo did his part and that is why he is in one of the big teams. Messi missed a penalty but that should not make us judge a player, it is still too early in the tournament. We still have enough time to see who will emerge the best player at last.”
Well, so far all African teams have lost the matches, what is Ghost’s take?
“I was impressed by Morocco and Egypt, super goal keeping and they have tried to show us their prowess. However, Nigeria was too much disappointment to the fans. There was too much individual play. A lot was expected from them so they gave their fans disappointment.”
Well, listen to his full predictions and why you need to be keen while betting today;
