Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata solemnised his marriage to his wife Mary Wambui, in a colourful wedding graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The wedding was held at Gathinja Catholic Church in Kahuhia constituency, Murang’a county.


2. Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura and his wife Mukami 

They got married in June,26 2015 in a colorful ceremony attended by the creme dela creme of the Kenyan society.

3. Naisula Lesuuda

Naisula Lesuuda the member of parliament for Samburu West married the love of her life Robert Kiplagat in a colourful wedding.

When she announced her engagement on January 1st this year, Lesuuda posted on her social media:

“Here’s to new beginning….All said and done ,I thank God for the growth that I have experienced both politically and in my personal life…Here’s to love and light in 2018.”

The  wedding took place on November 17th this year at ACK St. Phillips Lesirai church.

4. Chemeli Chumo

Kenya Power Chief Executive’s daughter, Chemeli Chumo and her boyfriend Kevin Oduor walked down the aisle at a wedding that was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta.


5. Naeem Balala

President Uhuru Kenyatta  joined hundreds of invited guests at the wedding of Naeem Balala, son of Mining Secretary Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala.

The colourful wedding between Naeem and Safiya Omar Sherman, daughter of prominent lawyer Omar Sherman, was held at the exclusive Vipingo Ridge in Kilifi County and officiated by Ustadh Sharif Abdulqadir Hyder.

According to Nairobi News, Naisula Lesuuda held her engagement party at an exclusive invites only event held at Mountain View estate over the weekend.

The legislator, who announced early this year that she had found someone only identified as Robert, who won her heart after Nairobian’s exposed, is set to walk down the aisle soon.

Sources say the event was attended by the who is who in the political and media fields. Naisula Lesuuda’s early this year message that broke the hearts of many reads:

“Here’s to new beginnings. When we made a decision to not only run for member of the national assembly for Samburu West but also on a Kanu ticket, we knew that it was not going to be an easy task. However, with your support and prayers, we made it against many odds. A lot was said about our candidature and even our chances to clinch the seat. you the people of Samburu west believed and together, we made it happen. Thank you.

I pray that 2018 will open a new chapter to all of us. We will all work together for the common good of our people endeavoring to implement my campaign pledges. Education remains my number one priority. Research has shown that where you invest in education, you invest in the entire community. It is in this regard that I am putting all efforts to personally meet the school fees of the needy students who did well in standard 8 and have no means to go to high school as we await CDF allocations from treasury.

Stop Hiding Children With Disabilities: Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura Says

Samburu parents living with disabled children have been urged not to hide them. Nominated member of parliament, Isaac Mwaura said many parents do not take their disabled children to school.

Speaking in Maralal town on Sunday when he visited children living with disabilities at Samburu handicapped rehabilitation and education programme orphanage centre he said officials are going round the country to establish the number of people living with disabilities.

“We don’t want those with disabilities to be hidden or punished. God has a plan for everybody. Let them be known so that they can be helped,” said Mwaura, who is also the chairman, Kenya disability parliamentary association.

Mwaura was with nominated senator, Naisula Lesuuda, Samburu county women representative Maison Leshoomo and other local leaders. They donated food, clothes and wheel chairs worth thousands of shillings to more than 200 destitute children from Samburu.

Mwaura urged parents to ensure all disabled and orphaned children are taken to school. He appealed to well-wishers to help the less privileged.

Senators open supremacy wars with MPs over health services reversal

Senators have warned MPs against reverting health services back to the central government terming the move as unconstitutional.

Senators Boni Khalwale, Naisula Lesuuda and Hassan Omar have vowed to push for more funds to the county health dockets instead.

In related news, senators have maintained that they wont take anything less than 291 billion shillings as funding for counties in the next financial year.

Senator Stephen Sang says problems currently encountered in various county functions are due to poor funding from the national government.
