The African President who wants to run for a seventh term but doesn't live in his country

Paul Biya is the President of Cameroon who now wants to run for a seventh consecutive term.

He has been President since 1992. Were you born by that time?

The 85-year-old tweeted his intention to run for again, explaining his reasons for wanting to stay in power.

He currently lives in Switzerland and visits his country a few days a year. It is also said he holds cabinet meetings every three years.

“I am willing to respond positively to your overwhelming calls. I will stand as your candidate in the upcoming presidential election,” he tweeted.

Presidential elections are scheduled for October this year.
