Uasin Gishu County Governnment Bans Parties, Discos For Students During April Holidays

The government has banned parties and discos for students in Uasin Gishu County during the ongoing holidays.

Uasin Gishu County Commissioner, Abdi Hassan says organizers of such parties will be arrested and prosecuted while entertainment joints which admit children will be shut down.

He says parents must strictly monitor the whereabouts of the children during the three weeks schools are on holiday.
The directive comes just a week after one student died while four others were admitted at Moi Referral Hospital after they drunk Ethanol Chemical at Korross Secondary School in the same county.

The students went to the school laboratory where they drunk the chemical and later complained of pain before they were admitted to the hospital.
