VIDEO: Congolese Referee Leaves Pitch On A Stretcher After Being Badly Beaten By Fans

A horrifying video of a Congolese assistant referee leaving a football pitch on a stretcher after being beaten up badly by fans of Daring Club Motema Pembe, has surfaced online.

The referee was officiating a Congolese Super League match between Motema Pembe and Dauphin Noir, on Thursday last week at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte in Kinshasa.

The match ended 0-0 and all hell broke lose after the final whistle when fans of Motema Pembe, who were hosting the match, invaded the pitch and started attacking the official.

Even though he was quickly saved by police officers, the referee could barely move and had to be carried off the pitch.

The fans also broke seats and caused damage to other property on the pitch.
