VIDEO: After Eating In A Kibanda, Everton Squad Tried Out Cooking Ugali In Tanzania

Everton football club players and staff landed in Tanzania on Wednesday morning much to the locals' excitement as they got to meet their football idols, at the Julius Nyerere International Airport.

The Merseyside-based club are in the East African country ahead of their much anticipated friendly match against Kenya's record Kenyan Premier League champions, Gor Mahia on Thursday evening at the countrys national stadium.

Kogalo, earned a once in a lifetime ticket to face off with the English side after beating their local nemesis, AFC Leopards, 3-0 in the finals of the inaugural Sportpesa Super Cup.

The Everton players wowed the locals when they had their first meal on Tanzanian soil in a kibanda instead of a five star hotel.

If that was not enough show of humilty, a number of them then took part in a cooking contest among themselves, with the challenge being cooking Tanzania's traditional foods among them fish and world renowned ugali!

The cooking challenge featured the likes of club captain; Phil Jagielka, Calvert-Lewin, new signing Davy Klaassen and youngster Mathew Pennington with the assistance of the club's head chef.
