Presidential hopeful Abduba Dida yesterday said he is the best placed leader to end corruption in the country.

Dida who addressed journalists at the media center in Mumias town after opening his party’s (Alliance for Real Change) office at Bulimbo in Matungu, Kakamega County said the country’s major challenge is corruption.

He said he was visiting all the 47 counties to tour his party’s offices and stamping authority on his presidential bid.

“Corruption in Kenya is growing at an alarming rate because the country lacks divine leadership. Those entrusted with the country’s leadership do not value humanity because they don’t understand what God wants from them and they don’t fear God,” said Dida.

He said money meant to benefit all Kenyans is stolen under the purview of highly connected individuals.

“It is shameful for Kenya that people are still dying for lack of proper medication and lack of equipment in health facilities in this 21st century while a few individuals are guttering chunks of taxpayers’ money into their pockets,” he said.

He asked Kenyans to refuse to accept corruption as their culture so that the national cake can benefit every citizen.

He blamed office holders in the new constitutional dispensation as lacking capacity to adjust to the thinking of the new constitution.

The 2013 presidential contender revealed that the country’s revenue collection in the last financial year was below target by sh62 billion because the management of revenue in the country is worsening with rising debts.

“The Income Tax from government parastatals was below target as government lived to its principles and objectives of highly spending through increasing budget on development and keeping share of government wages and benefits high,” he said.

He said the increasing debt level which has hit Sh3.2 billion is raising concern among Kenyans and should be addressed at all levels of leadership.

Dida promised to offer solutions to the starving communities of Turkana, Eastern and other regions by putting all farms on irrigation to enhance food security.

He appealed to Kenyans to consider him to be the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya “and they will regret having wasted this five years”.
