A police officer was mugged and seriously injured as he walked to his place of work in Parkroad area, Nairobi.

The chief inspector of police attached to DCI headquarters was heading to work when he was attacked by a gang that robbed him of his Sh6,000, mobile phone and his identity cards.

He was not armed at the time of the incident. He was rushed to hospital unconscious and police say they are yet to get those behind the incident. Cases of mugging rise in morning and evening hours in Nairobi.

Meanwhile, Police are looking for a gang that shot one man dead and injured another one in Kayole area, Nairobi in unclear circumstances.

The body of the victim was discovered minutes after gunshots had been heard from B3 area. Gunmen who were on a motorbike escaped from the scene. Few minutes later, the same gang shot and injured another man meters away as they escaped.

Police who rushed to the scenes said no arrest was made and the motive of the shooting is yet to be known. The incidents are the latest in a series that have occurred and blamed on criminal gangs operating in the area.

Still in Nairobi, three people were last night stabbed to death in an attack along Outering Road, Nairobi.

It is not clear who was behind the stabbing because the bodies were discovered at the scene long after the incident had happened. Police say they are investigating the incident to know who was behind it.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary.
