Chidi Benz seems to be having a bad year. Just when things had started looking up for him; he had successfully completed a stint in rehab, had a new song with the Wasafi Records starlet Rayvanny and finally looked like he had found his mojo, he got busted in a drug raid.
He was arrested after being paraded to the media but it would seem all this might have been a setup. And all this is only just coming to light after the police ran some bloodwork on him and found no traces of either heroin or cocaine in his system.
When asked for a comment, all he said was:
Kuhusu hilo nina ushauri kutoka kwa mama watoto wangu kwamba nisilizungumzie zaidi. Lakini kwa ufupi ni kwamba mtu kukamatwa na dawa za kulevya ni sawa na mtu aliyekamatwa na bangi, mirungi ama chochote kile ambacho kinaonekana kuvunja sheria za nchi! Kwa hiyo nisiingie huko sana lakini jambo la msingi ni kwamba vijana wa Kitanzania wasijaribu na wanaotumia dawa za kulevya waachane nazo, siyo nzuri zaidi wajenge taifa kwa manufaa ya kizazi chetu.
