Arsenal are considering loan offers for Jack Wilshere in a bid to reinvigorate his stalling career.

Just 24 hours after Wilshere was a surprise omission from Sam Allardyce’s first England squad, the Gunners are set to allow their midfielder to leave on a temporary basis before Wednesday's transfer deadline.

The 24-year-old’s first-team opportunities are likely to be limited this season with Santi Cazorla, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny all vying for a place in Wilshere’s preferred central midfield position.

reports that manager Arsene Wenger believes Wilshere still has a long-term role at the Emirates, but feels he will benefit from playing regularly.

His availability will alert a host of Premier League and overseas clubs, although Wenger is not likely to sanction a move to a top-four rival.

Valencia made a loan move for Wilshere in January but may no longer be interested following Gary Neville’s exit as their coach.

Wilshere has played only 37 minutes this season in two substitute appearances after missing most of last season with a broken leg.

Announcing his first England squad, Allardyce made clear the reason he had not selected Wilshere, saying: ‘As for Jack, he just hasn’t had enough game time. Hopefully he will get that in the future at Arsenal.’

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is joining Middlesbrough on a season-long loan.
