A man charged with breaking into a house and stealing a Sh 30 bar of soap was released on a Sh 30,000 bond or Sh 10,000 cash bail on Monday.

Joseph Mwangi was charged with stealing the soap from Inspector Orina Bonda's home in Ol Kalo twon, Nyandarua county on January 30.

Mwangi denied the charge before Nyahururu resident magistrate Alice Mukenga.

The case will be mentioned on February 12 and heard on April 28.

In the same court, Patrick Chege was charged with stealing 7.5 kgs of roasted meat with accomplices.

He allegedly stole the meat worth Sh2,550 from HQ Bar and Restaurant in Ol Kalou.

He was also released on a Sh30,000 bond with the option of a Sh10,000 cash bail.

His case will be heard on April 27.
