Governors in the North Rift have agreed to seek a joint solution to the maize crisis in the region where farmers are facing a marketing problem.
The Governors and MPs from Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia and Elgeyo Marakwet held a crisis meeting in Eldoret where they agreed to increase funding to agriculture sector in their budgets.
Governor Jackson Mandago of Uasin Gishu who chaired the meeting said they would also help farmers diversify their farming activities instead of relying on maize and wheat.
