Kenya is ranked third worldwide on the inequality index due to her high marginalization and huge difference between the rich and the poor. Senator Hassan Omar says the new Human Dignity Bill is aimed at ensuring the government upgrades fundamental social and economic rights of all citizens.

In related news, the Senate is set to amend the criteria used by Commission for Revenue Allocation CRA to identify marginalized counties and how each will benefit from the equalization fund. Senator Hassan Omar says several groups including those in major cities have been marginalized yet they have been locked out of the fund.
