Almost 700,000 expectant women in Kenya suffer from anaemia. A recent survey shows that at least half of this number are suffering from iron deficiency anaemia.

The survey further highlights that less than half of pregnant women go for full antenatal visits before giving birth. Medic Sophie Ochola says areas such as Machakos and Makueni had the highest number of women visiting the clinics, while North Eastern had the poorest.
