Passenger Shot Dead In Confrontation Between Police And Gunmen

A passenger was last night shot dead in confrontation between police and gunmen in a robbery in Kayole estate, Nairobi.

The passenger was shot dead after a gang that had attacked and robbed an M-pesa shop of unknown amount, ran into a matatu to escape from police officers who were pursuing them.

Another passenger was shot and wounded while one suspect was also killed. Police say the suspects shot at them first prompting the shooting on the matatu. The bodies were taken to the mortuary while the injured passenger is in hospital.

In another incident, a suspected thug was shot dead and stolen property found on him along Ngina Road in Dagorretti area, Nairobi.

The deceased was in the company of others and had broken into a private home when police were alerted. Police say they recovered stolen electronic goods from the deceased man while his accomplices managed to escape on foot.
