Moses Pius Ouma

The youngest Busia MCA - Moses Ouma, popularly known as Mose Baaba - has pledged radical changes.

The 25-year-old owns a mini-shop at Tangakona trading centre. On Thursday, Ouma said his priority will be to lobby for the chairmanship of the Agriculture Committee at the assembly.

“After securing the docket, I will use it to empower farmers. I will push for bills that ensure peasant farmers receive free seeds and fertiliser to boost their production and make Busia county a food basket in the country,” he said.

Ouma said he will improve the state of dairy farming by buying cattle. He beat his closest challenger Paul Okello with three votes. Ouma got 1,679 votes.

The three vote margin was a bitter pill to swallow for his opponent. Ouma said, “I am the happiest man in the world for making it to the assembly.”
