Mpesa Attendant Among 3 Shot During Police Clash With Hawkers In EldoretĀ

An Mpesa shop attendant was among three people shot and wounded in Eldoret during confrontations between police and hawkers.
The protests erupted when police tried to evict the hawkers from the streets. Three other people sustained slight injuries.
Some of the injured were taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral hospital for treatment.
Mercy Sitienei, an Mpesa Shop attendant was shot on her thigh.
Uasin Gishu County Security advisor Paul Ruto said the hawkers had refused to vacate from the streets and use a market constructed for them.
