Mwingi Central MP Mulyungi Arrested Over Assault On His Wife Doreen Gatwiri

Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife Doreen Gatwiri.

He was apprehended on Thursday and taken to Hardy Police Station in Karen, Nairobi.

Gatwiri, a former TV anchor, complained via Facebook saying Mulyungi beat her at their Karen home from about 9.50pm on February 26.

She ran to Kileleshwa but said she was still not assured of her safety.

The former anchor said she had to seek treatment at Avenue Hospital for injuries to the back of her head.

The P3 form states Gatwiri also sustained injuries to her ear, around her neck and the TMJ area. The TMJ connects the lower jaw (mandible) to the skull (temporal bone) in front of the ear.

She reported the matter at Hardy and said she would sue her husband.

Gatwiri said Mulyungi had threatened her before.

After the complaint was reported, the MP did not answer calls and messages for comment on the matter.
