Gidi missing plane

The whole nation is in prayers as they await in bated breath for news on the whereabouts of the eight passengers and two crew members who were on board of the missing caravan aircraft, registration number 5Y-CAC.

The 12-seater caravan which was on it's way to JKIA from Kitale went off radar on Tuesday evening and the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport control tower reported that it lost contact with the plane at 5:20pm.

According to latest reports, a signal from the plane has been traced to Aberdare forest near Kinangop and a search and rescue team has since been mobilised by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, Aircraft Accident Investigation Department, and KWS.

Radio Jambo presenter, Gidi who is away on holiday in USA, was shocked upon receiving the sad news and he took to his Instagram page to reveal that he traveled on the missing plane just a fortnight ago.

According to the breakfast presenter, he used the aircraft to fly from Wilson airport to Homabay as he expressed hopes that the 10 people on board are in good condition, as the search and rescue operation continues.

He posted,

I used this plane just two weeks ago from Wilson to Homabay, and I can just imagine what the crew and passengers went through before it came down. Let's hope for the best as the search n rescue continues.

His colleague Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee who is also saddened by the unfortunate events, also recounted that he used the very same aircraft approximately two months ago, though he did not reveal his destination.

He commented,

I also did 2 months ago so sad.

We continue to pray and hope that the passengers and crew on board are in safe conditions as the search and rescue mission continues.
