It was a busy transfer deadline day on Thursday for  clubs as they sought to conclude their business in earnest before the start of the new season.

£128m was spent with 25 players arriving in England, with the likes of Fulham and Leicester leading the way with big-money moves.

While 10 years ago £30m may have bought Dimitar Berbatov and Robinho, this summer the same outlay hasn't quite delivered the same household names.
