Hilarious memes from Colin Kaepernick's Nike advert

On Monday, September 3, Nike announced that former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick would be the face of its new Just Do It campaign.

Kaepernick tweeted a snapshot of the black-and-white Nike ad, which shows his face behind text that reads: ‘Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.’ He wrote out the statement alongside a Just Do It hashtag.

Straight away, the debate that started two years ago when Kaepernick knelt during the national anthem in protest against the racial injustice in America caught fire all over again.

Following the announcement, Nike’s share’s closed down 3.2 percent on Tuesday, marking the biggest one-day drop since April.

However, that did not stop social media users from recreating the ad with hilarious captions with either their faces on it or those of elebrities.
