bulls

Two bulls belonging to Mwihoti Secondary School, Ol kalou, were today night stolen by thieves who slaughtered them at Ol kalou town quarry,3 Km from the school.

The school deputy principal, Daniel Kamau said the animals were stolen around 3 am and two school watchmen did not notice.

The thieves left the only skins where they slaughtered those two bulls at the quarry, just about 300metres from Ol kalou police station.

Kamau said the thieves used pliers to cut the wire at the cattle shed where they left behind two dairy cows and a calf.

One of the bulls was to be slaughtered during the form four leavers part to celebrate with other students as a way of saying goodbye, a tradition the school has maintained since its first examination class three years ago. The other bull was to be slaughtered next year.

Stealing and slaughtering of animals at Ol kalou has been going on for some time. Kamau said they never thought the school could be a victim.

The two watchmen, aged 45 and 48 have recorded statement at Ol kalou police station.
