Shock as domestic black male dog carrying a huge consumed cow's bone marrow enters burial of late former Baringo North Member of Parliament (MP) Zephaniah Chepkong'a alias Akwele on Saturday.

The funeral held at the late Ex-MP's home in Ossen near Kabartonjo town was attended by over 3000 mourners and guarded by over 50 security officers.

"This one looks like a miracle. How can a dog holding piece of bone manage to tore peacefully into such crowd while security and the ushers helplessly watched it walk to the Very Important Persons(VIPs) tents in front?" a local gestured the Star.

Surprisingly, as if it was showing some honor to the deceased, the pet looking humble and innocent worked majestically through the tent sheltering the casket before finding its way directly to the front tents sheltering family members and then the guests.

Although it was not ascertained immediately if the dog belonged to the family or a neighbor’s, but people just kept silent watching the creature drop the bone at the feet of the children of the late MP with his two widows before picking it, resting it again at the feet of the guests and the church faithful before walking out with it peacefully through the same entrance.

"No one interferes with it because who knows exactly what that means", elders were heard murmuring to each other in the background as silence and wonder ruled the entire ceremony.

However Tugen elder Joseph Noti said he neither has a clear understanding of the bizarre happening nor has he ever heard or seen such anomalies in his life.

"I will try and get an explanation from my fellow elders but meanwhile in my own imagination I don't think it symbolizes anything bad. It could show heroism and prove of responsiveness. Could be during his time the MP was a servant and a blessing for all humans and animals" Noti said.

Late Chepkong'a entered politics in 1979 and won the Baringo North parliamentary seat on KANU ticket, position which he lasted in only for six months before being taken over by late Henry Cheboiwo after losing court petition under influence of former head of state Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi.

He died at 78 after long illness while undergoing medication at Mediheal Hospital in Nakuru on October 5.

He left behind two widows Grace Kabon and Grace Kobilo with dozens of children plus a great number of grand and great grand children.
