That picture used to nominate Eliud Kipchoge for a sports award has been changed
A poster of athlete Eliud Kipchoge used by Laureus publication to nominate him, caught the attention of Kenyans who were outraged.
World marathon record holder Kipchoge is among six sportsmen nominated for the 2018 Laureus World Sportsman of the Year.
Kipchoge was nominated alongside Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton, tennis world No 1 Novak Djokovic and NBA great LeBron James.
The nomination for sportsman of the year was well received but the choice of the photo caused a storm.
Kenyans shared their anger under the picture, and their angry comments have caught the attention of the people behind the picture.
It has now been changed to portray Kipchoge better.

WOW! 🤭What in the actual heavens! The lack of quality control measures or the sheer disregard for them when Africans are involved is appalling. Eliud did not break world records for him to be portrayed in this manner!
