It maybe 38 years since Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley died, but over three decades later, the world always celebrate the king of reggae’s legendary soul.

Today being the 6th of February, the whole world celebrates Bob’s legacy on a day he would be turning 74-years-old, since his death in May 11th 1981.

Born on 6th February 1945, the Jamaican reggae singer-songwriter, musician, and guitarist achieved great success when he started out with the group the Wailers.

He later went on to pursue a solo career where he went on to become one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time.

Marley was a committed Rastafari who infused his music with a sense of spirituality.

1. Bob Marley was born as 'Nesta Robert Marley.

2. At a tender age of four, Marley discovered he could read palms. It is said that some of his palm readings came true and always left his mom shaken!

3. Marley was a big football fan and he actually used to play!

He would actually play football around the recording studios during his free time.

4. Due to his love for football he was even buried with both a Les Paul guitar and a football, oh! and a bud of marijuana!

4. His best subject in school was mathematics. He however did not stay in school for long and left at a tender age.

5. He has spent time in prison

Bob was once arrested for possession of marijuana and spent a month in prison.

6. Died of cancer

In 1977, he injured his right big toe while playing football  and the injury led doctors to discover a malignant melanoma in Marley’s toe. The doctors recommended amputation, but he refused due to his religious reasons. The tumor ultimately caused his death.
