Security guard arrested for raping an elderly lady

A 48 year old man was arrested in Webuye after allegedly raping a 95 year old woman.

She had offered him a place to stay due to a heavy rain fall and attacked her all of a sudden.

The residents rushed to her rescue and ambushed the man thoroughly before handing him to the police officers.

The woman is currently admitted at the Lugulu Mission Hospital after the attack in Namawanga village in Bokoli ward.

Bungoma Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga, went to visit the woman at the hospital yesterday and promised to make sure that justice was served. She then went ahead to the police station to follow up the case with the OCS.

"I will offer all the support that is needed to see that justice prevails for mama. This is a traumatic experience," Wambilianga said.
