Anthony Martial may have hit the ground running immediately after arriving at Manchester United following a 36-million-pound from AS Monaco in September but his incredible start should not be taken to mean that he was not worried about adapting to the intensity and physicality of the Premier League.

The 20-year-old Frenchman justified his big money move as well as comparison to former Arsenal great Thierry Henry by scoring in his debut match, a league game against the Red Devils' fierce rivals Liverpool, and did not stop there as he continued to impress in the matches that followed.

The fairytale start was however not what the married father of one expected if an interview he gave RTL, a French Radio Station.

"At the start I was scared because I had heard a lot about the intensity of the English game," Martial is quoted by the Daily Mail as having told RTL.

Despite his fears about the rigours of English football, he told RTL that he was not afraid of being tackled as it all boiled down in his ability to avoid them so as to prevent himself from suffering an injury.

"No. With all tackles you just need to know how to avoid them and not injure yourself."

He added that he loves English football and it was really everything that he ever wanted.

Martial is currently with the French national football team and will be looking to start against Russia today in a friendly match.
