Bayern Munich has revealed that new signing James Rodriguez will miss the first games of the Bundesliga side through injury.

The Colombian arrived in Allianz Arena from Real Madrid on a two year deal. James picked up a thigh injury in Bayern Munich's lose to Liverpool.

A statement on the read: 'FC Bayern will have to make do without new signing James Rodríguez in the coming weeks.

This means that Rodriguez will miss the German Super Cup final against Borrusia Dortmund.

Thiago Alcantara will also miss the final after he had to receive treatment against the Reds after 20 min of the game.

The statement continued: 'Thiago Alcantara will miss the Super Cup final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday with an abdominal muscle injury

David Alaba, meanwhile, also picked up a knock and will train alone on Thursday.

'David Alaba, who had to be subbed off against Liverpool as well, received treatment on Wednesday and will train individually on Thursday.

The likes of Manuel Neuer and Juan Bernat are expected back in action by Aug 5th 2017 and Oct 23rd 2017 respectively.
