Manchester United retained top spot in the English Premier League with another clinical 4-0 win over Swansea yesterday.

Eric Bailly put the red devils ahead in the 45th minute before late efforts from Romelu Lukaku Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial made it four.

Meanwhile, Sadio Manne's 73rd minute effort saw Liverpool beat a resilient Crystal Palace 1-0 for their first victory this season, while debutant Jesse Rodriguez effort saw Stoke beat Arsenal 1-0 to condemn the gunners to their first loss this season.

Elsewhere second placed West Brom beat Burnley 1-0, Leicester were 2-0 winners over Brighton, while Southampton beat Westham 3-2.

Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says he wants to be in charge of the club for "many years" and lead the Blues into the new Stamford Bridge.

Conte arrived on a three-year deal last summer but is now looking beyond that.

Ahead of their crunch tie against Tottenham today the Italian says they have to play better than last week to get their first EPL victory this season. His counterpart Mauricio Porchetino says they have no excuse of losing matches at Wembley this season..

In La Liga, ten man Atletico Madrid rallied from behind to settle for a 2-2 draw with new comers Girona in the Spanish league.

Girona took a 2-0 first half lead courtesy of a Cristhian Stuani's brace, before Antoine Griezmann was sent off in the second half for diving, but Atletico equalised late through Angel Correa and Jose Gimenez's efforts.

Other results saw Real Sociedad beat Celta Vigo 3-2, while Seville and Espanyol played to a one all draw. La liga continues today, with champions Real Madrid starting their title defense without suspended Cristiano Ronaldo when they take on Deportivo La Coruna, while Barcelona will be up against Real Betis.
