Victorious Malkia Strikers Hammer Egypt To Book Ticket To FIVB Championships

Kenya volley ball women team continued their title defense with a 3-0 semi final win over rivals Egypt in the Yaounde Cameroon Women’s African Championships, that also act as the world championship qualifiers.

Malkia strikers won the tough encounter in sets of 25-23, 25-22, 25-19 to book a final spot against hosts Cameroon who also beat Senegal straight sets of 25-19 , 25-20 and  27-25. The two sides also booked a place in the Japan  2018 world championships.

Elsehwere, the National Olympic Committee of Kenya yesterday named a nine member committee that will lead Kenya’s preparations for next April’s Australia Commonwealth Games in.

Athletics Kenya President Jackson Tuwei was named chef de mission, and he will be assisted by Maina Kamau. Kenya Tennis Federation vice chairman Francis Mutuku will be the team’s executive officer with Kenya Judo Association chairman Shadrack Maluki taking the position of general team manager to be assisted by Paul Otula.

Kenya Swimming Federation’s Winnie Kamau will charge of manage the women’s team while Nock treasurer Eliud Kariuki is the finance manager.
