Former international footballer George Weah has been elected Liberia’s 25th president.
The 51 yr old former World Footballer of the Year swept 13 out of the 15 counties with his 73-year-old opponent Joseph Boakai getting only two counties.
Turnout seems to have been low, but the result is expected to lead to the first smooth transfer of power in 73 years.
