Early this week, a video showing a train traversing a football stadium during a match popped up, a rare discovery which ended up attracting excitement and criticism alike.

Though the stadium's exact location is yet to be known, the unique event is believed to have taken place during an amateur football match.

In relation to this, we take circle the globe to find some of the top soccer stadiums with the strangest, unusual and unique features.

  1. Allianz Arena

Built in 1972, just most of the stadiums we;ve highlighted above, the Munich Olympic Stadium which has a apacity of 57, 450 was also built as a main venue for a major event, this time being the 1972 summer Olympics.

What's attractive about this unique stadium is it;s large sweeping canopies which are made of acrylic glass and stabilized by steel cables that were used for the first time on a large scale at that time.

According to wikipedia, the whole idea was to imitate the Alps and to set a counterpart to the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, held during the Nazi regime.

The sweeping and transparent canopy was to symbolize the new, democratic and optimistic Germany. This is reflected in the official motto: "The cheerful Games
