"We know he has been stressed for a period of time and on some occasions, he complained of poverty and his mother never being there since he was brought to this village," said Naivasha Assistant County Commissioner John Opondo as confirmed the incidence. He added that the body had been collected and taken to the county referral hospital mortuary.

Opondo said the boy did not leave a suicide note and that the police had started their investigations following the bizarre incident.

Meanwhile, a prisoner serving a life sentence was this morning found dead in his cell at the Naivasha Maximum Security Prison.

It was not immediately clear the cause of death but close friends said the middle aged man had been ailing for some time

"The inmate in his late 40's was found in his cell by warders and was confirmed dead on arrival at the prison hospital," said a source.

A source at the prison confirmed the deceased had been ill for some time and had refused to take drugs given by medics.

"He was well  last night but we woke up to find his lifeless body. We have handed over the issue to police who are investigating the incidence",  said a warder.
