7-year-old boy jumps to his death at KNH

A seven-year-old boy committed suicide by jumping off the seventh floor of the Kenyatta Hospital Ward where he had been admitted.

The boy, who officials say was a street child, had been admitted there with kidney complications when the incident happened last night.

Police say they were called and informed of the incident after it had happened. The boy had apparently walked from his hospital bed before he flipped down to the ground floor headfirst. He died on the spot.

Such incidents are common at the hospital with poor care being blamed for the situation.
